Stranger #3

Who:
3, 2o-something girls.

Where:
Michaels Arts and Crafts

What Happened:
The first girl, we'll call her G1 came up to the counter and I started ringing up her order. Then G2 came up with a handful of our "Ol'Fasion Taffy" and she said, "There's so much taffey!" I replied, "So much taffey, so little time!" G3 came up at this point and asked what was going on. G2 replied by telling her what I had just said, and G3 replied "Sure enough!" During all of this G1 is filling out a check. Then I said, "That should be a bumpersticker: 'So Much Taffey So Little Time!" G2 replied, "No, it should be a tee-shirt!" G1 replied, "What should? You're going to put 'Sure Enough' on a tee-shirt?" mimicking what G3 had said earlier. G2 and G3 began laughing, before G3 was able to explain that they are going to put "So Much Taffey, So Little Time" on a shirt. Then I chimed in that they should put, "Sure Enough!" on the back. All 3 girls then started laughing hysterically, and agreed that they needed to do this. So I meantioned to them that we sell tee-shirts and G3 said, "Look! She's trying to sell us shit!" I told G1 her total and she wasn't listening...so G2 hit her in the arm and said, "Tracy! She's talking to you!" I said to G1 that my name was Tracy also and asked her if she spelled it with or without an 'e.' She told me that she spells it without an 'e,' so I said, "Oh, the right way!" And she said, "Exacatlly." I then explained to her my "theroy" on how Tracey's who spell their names with 'e's' are evil, because the 'e' stands for 'evil." She got a kick out of this. The transaction ended, and they left giggling.

How I Feel:
It was a very fun converstaion, where I felt no pressure to be formal or "proper."
